Caroline Jones

Certified Nurse Midwife

Caroline Jones has had the pleasure of calling Lubbock her home for the past 12 years. As the owner and clinical director of Held Midwifery & Wellness, she is dedicated to empowering women and families through personalized, compassionate care.

Her Journey

Childbirth has fascinated Caroline ever since she was young, and she has always had a passion for helping others. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2015, she spent over eight years working as a labor and delivery nurse. This experience fueled her desire to spend more time with birthing families, guide women through their healthcare choices, and empower them to make informed decisions.

To deepen her expertise, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing - Nurse-Midwifery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2023. With over three years of experience assisting births in out-of-hospital settings, she is thrilled to offer services like preconception counseling, pregnancy and birth care, well-woman care, family planning, and lactation consultation.

Family

Caroline is blessed with a wonderful family—her husband Brooks and their three children: Eleanor (6), Emilia (4), and Banks (2). When she's not working, she loves spending time with her family, traveling, baking, and decorating cookies. They are also planning to develop their homestead on 60 acres in Shallowater soon.

Held Midwifery & Wellness

Caroline truly feels called to this role, and her goal is to build a strong network of healthcare providers dedicated to women's health and make midwifery care accessible to everyone who desires it.

At Held Midwifery & Wellness, they’re more than just healthcare providers—they’re your partners in health, your advocates, and your support system. Caroline looks forward to walking this journey with you and offering care that honors your unique needs and choices.

Sarah Pohlmeyer

Clinical Office Manager & Birth Assistant

Sarah has been involved in the birth community since 2013, serving hundreds of families with compassion and dedication. Sarah will be attending prenatal appointments and births as the primary birth assistant at Held Midwifery. She will also be offering education classes, lactation support, and serving as the clinical office manager.

Sarah’s Journey

Sarah’s interest in healthcare began early on in life, but it was her own journey into motherhood that truly ignited her passion for women’s health. Her journey to start a family was not easy, as she faced complications and loss. These experiences highlighted the importance of compassionate and comprehensive women’s healthcare, leading her to become a birth doula. Since then, she grew her involvement in women’s health to include roles such as lactation counselor, bereavement doula, childbirth educator, and placenta encapsulator. Sarah is passionate about creating space for relationships of real trust between care providers and clients. Sarah is eager to offer support at Held for births and through education and lactation services.

Family

Sarah has been married to her husband Nathan for 18 years, and together they feel blessed to raise their two teenage boys: Eli a high school freshman this year, and Zachary, who will be finishing up middle school. The family also includes two basset hounds, Daisy and Rex. The Pohlmeyers are involved in their church, where Sarah leads a small group and helps host a parenting community group. The personal experiences of facing loss and raising their boys has deepened Sarah’s dedication to providing empathetic and comprehensive care to families.

Held Midwifery & Wellness

Sarah is honored to be part of the Held Midwifery team and looks forward to supporting families through their unique journeys.
